Annunciation Orthodox School presents students with the opportunity to grow as life-long learners who value their God-given abilities and privileges, while examining their frailties and responsibilities. Understanding, internalization and application of knowledge, skills, and concepts are key objectives in preparing graduates to successfully meet the challenges presented in high school and beyond. AOS desires that its graduates think critically and enjoy seeking creative solutions to problems. Possibilities are maximized so that graduates develop knowledge of who they are and how they learn in order to become confident contributors in a variety of settings.
The academic curriculum provides the graduates with a strong foundation upon which higher-level skills and knowledge may be built. AOS aims for its graduates to be articulate and able to communicate effectively through the written and spoken word. AOS graduates have experienced various forms of the arts and understand their importance to defining a civilized society. Through the study of two foreign
languages, graduates enhance their knowledge of culture as well as the development of language and etymology. AOS seeks to prepare its graduates to develop pride in a job well done through a strong work ethic that utilizes organizational and study skills. The development of strong character traits, linked
to good moral and ethical judgment, an understanding of spirituality, a mannerly demeanor, and good citizenship is an outgrowth of AOS' religious education and guidance. In keeping with the underlying philosophy of developing mind, body and spirit, AOS graduates value the importance of fitness, health, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Overall, graduates leave AOS with a greater understanding and appreciation of self and the world.
