Extended Day

The Extended Day Care is an outstanding extension of the school family. At EDC, kids learn how to interact with one another, developing independence and personal skills. After school hours, students may stay and participate in Extended Day Care where the learning and fun continues. Both morning and afternoon care is available to best serve our families. Students enrolled in EDC may arrive as early as 7 AM and stay until 6 PM in the evening.

Mission Statement

Extended Day at Annunciation Children Center exists to provide coordination of individual family resources and the resources of the Annunciation Orthodox School in meeting the developmental needs of children for adequate adult supervision and guidance when they are not in school and their parents are at work.

Statement of Goals

• To create a relaxed, trusting, intimate atmosphere where children are encouraged to pursue their own interests, develop friendships, and grow in confidence, independence, and respect for themselves and others.

• To provide a caring staff, who show genuine respect for the children and have confidence in each child's self esteem.

• To create a stable environment that is inviting, comfortable, attractive, orderly, and manageable by the children and a happy exciting place to be.

• To provide for the children a variety of developmentally appropriate activities, including expressive art, construction, active play, sports, games, dramatic play, science, cooking, crafts, and reading.

• To frame a schedule that allows time for each child to observe, to reflect, and to become absorbed in activities according to his/her own interests and talents.

• To give individual guidance to children based on careful observation of each child's needs and in keeping with parental values and goals.
