Substitute Teachers

Annunciation Orthodox School is seeking degreed, qualified substitute teachers with a passion for and knowledge of working with children ages 3 through the Eighth Grade.

In addition, a candidate must be dedicated to the character development of the students, be organized, and support the learning process in the teacher’s absence.  Duties will include implementing the teacher’s lesson plans, assigning student class work and homework, maintaining classroom control and discipline and completing a daily report to communicate pertinent information back to the teacher.

All prospective substitute resumes will be reviewed. Those whom the School chooses to interview will be contacted to set up an interview with the appropriate Division Head.

To be considered for a substitute teacher position, candidates, at a minimum, must have:

  • a Bachelor’ Degree;
  • experience teaching and/or working with children
  • a clear criminal history check;
  • the ability to work legally in the United States

To substitute in Early Childhood, qualified candidates must have current CPR and First Aid training.

Substitute Nurse

Annunciation Orthodox School is looking for qualified candidates for substitute nurses.  This work schedule would be on an “as needed” basis.

Requirements include:

  • Valid Texas LVN or RN License
  • Minimum of one year of pediatric or school nursing experience
  • Current CPR Certification
  • IDDM experience (Pen and Pump)

This person will need to be responsible and detail oriented.  They will be interacting with children, parents and educational professionals so they must be able to communicate easily at all levels.  Finally, this person will need to be able to work independently.
