After AOS

AOS positions our graduates for success. Our students attend outstanding high schools that fit each student's unique strengths and talents.

Heading for High School

AOS is committed to seeing all of our students successfully transition into high school. An important component of that transition is navigating the high school application process. Heading for High School is a high school application readiness program for our 8th-grade students.

Each year begins with an in-depth presentation that reviews the entire application process and provides details on the support services provided by AOS. Following the meeting, students and their families meet with their assigned high school advisor to discuss each family's specific hopes and interests. Throughout the fall, students learn about a number of Houston-area high schools and develop interviewing and essay writing skills. Additionally, AOS offers a higher-level presentation to 5th-7th-grade families that introduces them to the Heading for High School program and provides an overview of what high schools consider when reviewing applications.

High School Matriculation

AOS students develop into grounded, resilient individuals that are prepared for future challenges. As a result, our graduates continue on to some of the nation's top colleges and universities and build lives rich in purpose.
