5th Grade Builds Pendulums

In early February, 5th-grade students conducted a pendulum experiment after studying inertia, gravity, friction, mass, and force in Ms. Fertitta’s science class. Students constructed their own pendulums using meter sticks, pens, strings, and washers and observed how a pendulum gains speed during the first half of a swing and loses speed during the second half of the swing.
