Density of a 6th Grader Science Project
Jeri Lodato

Ms. Barnard, 6th Grade Science Teacher, recently led her students through a science experiment involving density and human subjects. By converting weight to mass and figuring out volume by water displacement (thanks to a large, clean trash can and kiddie pool), the students calculated the density using D=M/V. Some lively discussion and analyses followed when comparing different masses and volumes resulted in very similar densities!
