How will various ramps affect the velocity of a marble? 8th-grade students in Mrs. Mossbarger’s class worked to find the answer to this question. Each group timed the release of a marble from four different ramps, stopping the marble at the same place each time. At the end of the experiment, students wrote a formal CER (claim, evidence, reasoning). With data in hand, students answered the question with a claim, supported that claim with evidence, and explained their reasoning.
