7th Grade Learns About Scientists
Penny Angelo

Presvytera Magoulias’ 7th-grade life science class explored what it really means to be a scientist. Students took time to brainstorm words that describe a scientist, and each word was written on a notecard which was later used to put their STEM and teambuilding skills to the test. They competed to make the tallest tower and then sat down to draw what a scientist might look like. While many students drew an old man with crazy hair, a lab coat, goggles, and chemicals, Presvytera Magoulias’ explained that scientists can look just like her students. Everyone, in fact, can be a scientist!
