Throughout the month of February, 2nd-grade students worked through a series of projects that were inspired by historic Black individuals. A few of these projects included building an aircraft or spacecraft while learning about Bessie Coleman, Mae Jemison, and the Tuskegee Airmen; designing and creating a piece of multi-functional furniture while learning about Sarah Goode; and creating a piece of art inspired by Tyree Guyton or Laura Wheeler Waring.
