3rd Grade Adopts Mythological Pets
Jeri Lodato
3rd-grade students recently completed a unit on mythological pets in their Greek class. Students became familiar with words and metaphors stemming from mythology and often used in literature such as“Herculean task”, “Hydra Headed Evils”, “Between Scylla and Charybdis”, “to tantalize”, and to feel like “Sisyphus”. As a corresponding project, students “adopted” a mythological pet and created a representation of it.
