The mission of AOS athletics is to nurture the whole person—the spiritual, the mental, the emotional, and the physical. Student-athletes are encouraged to try any and all sports as long as they are committed to work as a team member and attend practice and games.

5th Grade Socratic Seminar

Through a Socratic seminar, 5th-grade students learned about different interest groups' influence concerning the natural resources of the Amazon rainforest. Each student represented an environmentalist, a settler, a cattle rancher, a native Amazonian, the Brazilian government, a rubber tapper, or a logger. After sharing a short speech about their group's interest, students worked to devise a solution to satisfy all parties.
