All Eyes on Science
Penny Angelo

You’ll never guess what 7th-grade students dissected! Students in Pres. Magoulias’ class have been learning about the five senses and how they connect to the nervous system. To better understand this concept, students dissected a cow eye. By following very specific directions, groups of students worked to identify parts of the eye such as the cornea, sclera, optic nerve, and more. Hands-on experiences like this one truly make science come alive in the classroom. If you’re looking for a quick lesson on eyeballs, talk to a 7th-grade pupil!
