From T-shirt to Tote
Penny Angelo

7th-grade students in Textile Exploration discovered a new use for their old t-shirts. With help from Ms. Wolff and Mrs. Eng, students first learned how to make specific cuts in their t-shirt to form a new shape. Then, they learned basic sewing skills to hand-stitch their soon-to-be tote bags. Since each t-shirt is unique to every student, each tote will have its own special personality, too. This project is a great way to upcycle clothing and bring home groceries at the same time!
