Math with Graphs
Penny Angelo

Sometimes pre-algebra can be confusing, but Mr. Dix finds great ways to make it understandable. During a two month long study and investigation of linear equations and relationships, students completed an engaging graphing activity. First, they leveraged slope-intercept form to graph linear equations on dry-erase boards. Then, in pairs, they checked their work for accuracy using Desmos’ online graphing calculator. With this knowledge, students continued to practice their estimation skills by drawing a sketch of an equation in slope-intercept form in less than five seconds! A lesson on functions will be coming up next, and we’re certain Mr. Dix will make it interesting.
