In The Lab
Penny Angelo

Eighth-grade science students in Ms. Wright’s class reviewed safety rules before heading into the lab this week. Wearing goggles, they carefully poured copper chloride, lead nitrate, sodium sulfate, and acetic acid into test tubes. Using their observation skills, students recorded qualitative data to identify chemical and physical changes when other substances were added to the solutions. They were very careful when handling each test tube and made sure to use a safe wafting technique to include smell in their observations as well. Students also observed the changes in a burning candle and made sure to hold the candle at a safe distance over a crucible. We can’t wait to see what students learn next in Ms. Wright’s lab!
