Learning About Holi
Penny Angelo

Delphi students learned about the celebration of Holi from AOS parents and classmates. Holi is one of the largest celebrations in India, but it is celebrated all over the world with a beautiful display of colors. Avaya and Veer’s parents read two books to students. Why do we celebrate HOLI by Anitha Rathod tells the story of a young girl, Preeti, who is interested in the traditions of the festival. Her grandmother teaches her about Indian mythology and Preeti learns that Holi celebrates the lesson that good always prevails. We Throw Color on Each Other! by Kavita G. Sahai focuses on siblings who celebrate Holi with their family and the book also teaches colors in Hindi! After reading the books, students made colorful shirts to commemorate the celebration and they enjoyed a delicious snack.
