Learning About Ramadan

4th-grade learned about Ramadan from a fellow classmate. Zahra shared both a presentation and a book about the holiday. She explained that the holy month of Ramadan is a time for people of the Muslim faith to give thanks to God and spend quality time with family and friends. She also shared information on the month-long fasting period including the special meals families share at sunset (iftar) and before sunrise (suhoor). To end the lesson, Zahra shared beautiful sugar cookies that had the words, “Ramadan Mubarek” (Blessed Ramadan) written on top.
