Mapping the Nile River
Penny Angelo

Students in fifth grade are studying Africa. To get a closer look at the Nile River, students mapped it out across their classroom using colorful tape. By illustrating the river, they have been able to work through issues like proportion, size, and scale. They have also found ways to use colors and symbols to represent physical features on their map.
