October is Bullying Prevention Month, and 3rd-grade students have focused on the accurate definition of bullying. With help from Mrs. Shelton, our Early Childhood & Lower School Counselor, students learned how to differentiate between bullying, a mean moment, and a conflict. To reinforce understanding of these concepts, students played the game “Scoot!” The game begins with examples of bullying, mean moments, and conflicts displayed on cards throughout the classroom. Next, each student stands at their first card, reads it carefully, and then takes 30-45 seconds to decide which concept is being described. Once time is up, they “Scoot!” to the next card. This engaging activity cleared up misconceptions and made learning fun!
