This spring, our students participated in multiple art competitions: TAEA Junior Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE Jr.), TAEA Texas Elementary Art Meet (TEAM), and Celebrating Art.
Twenty-two of our middle school students entered artwork to VASE Jr. Many of them earned top scores, and two students won the highest award, a Platinum Medal. Laurel M. ‘23 won for her animation. Bridget G. ‘21 won for her Covid Canine sculpture.
We had six lower school students enter TEAM, of which four received an exemplary rating: Ava W. ‘25, Sabrina L. ‘26, Maria R. ‘26, and MP S. ‘25. Our other two students, Sophia P. ‘25 and Emma B. ‘26, received a good rating. These works will be on display in our EIKON Art Show (May 3-7).
Lower school students also entered a nationwide art contest called Celebrating Art. Two of our students, Payton P. ‘25 and Saige L. ‘28, will have their artwork published in the Celebrating Art book (only 35% of the entries receive this recognition).
