Welcoming New Dolphins
Penny Angelo

Mrs. Shelton gathered a group of 3rd- and 4th-grade students for a lunchtime project. Their job was to welcome new Dolphins to our school and provide them with all the best information about AOS. The lunch period was spent brainstorming. From Lap Day to Olympics, and Chapel to student council, the group wrote down all the wonderful parts of AOS to share with a new friend. After this discussion, students created welcome posters for the new Dolphins. With welcome posters hung and a wealth of information under their belts, the veteran Dolphins found their buddy, grabbed their lunch, and re-entered the room the next day. They spent the time answering questions, sharing the greatest parts of AOS, and calming the nerves of their new friends. It was a lovely afternoon.
