Generosity means giving back to others, not keeping everything you have to yourself, and also sharing things you have with others.
2 Corinthians 9:5 tells us how Paul felt it was important to encourage other believers to organize and prepare the charitable donation they had already pledged, so that when the time came to give, it would be seen as a generous act of willingness, not a reluctant or forced obligation. “Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren to go to you ahead of time, and prepare your generous gift beforehand, which you had previously promised, that it may be ready as a matter of generosity and not as a grudging obligation.”
At AOS, we show generosity by giving back to our community. For example, throughout the school year, the teachers and the student council come up with different ways to donate things to the less fortunate. Students bring canned goods to the church before the Thanksgiving break, so we could give them to the people in need. Also, during Valentine’s Day, on AOS Has a Heart Day, we volunteer at different locations around the Houston community to help others.
