Exploring, Thinking, and Communicating
AOS Library Mission:
Promote collaborative learning opportunities and resources so that students grow as
- explorers of reading,
- critical thinkers,
- and communicators,
thereby building skills to be responsible citizens in the nation and the world.Lower School Library
The library is an engaging space for reading and exploring new ideas. An inviting storytime area and collaborative learning space encourage young readers to delve into more than 15,000 items and supplemental databases both at school and home. A beautiful staircase connects this library to the middle school library. Our Lower School librarian specializes in literacy education.
Middle School Library
The Middle School library houses a collection of over 15,000 items as well as databases and LibGuide project pages to support curricular learning and research. The library entrance invites the AOS community to interact with the Idea Wall or relax and read in comfortable nooks. The main library includes a large classroom, a conference room, and spaces for quiet study or collaboration.
Special library programs include book fairs, visiting authors, writing workshops, and a literary magazine.
