How to Apply

The Delphi program is designed for children who are 3 years of age by July 1 of their entry year.  The Delphi program is the first entry point at AOS with approximately 32 qualified applicants admitted. There are two classes consisting of approximately 16 students, a teacher, and a full-time assistant.

Admission decisions are based on the child’s development in a variety of areas including social and emotional maturity and overall readiness for our Delphi program in addition to an on-campus evaluation.

• Completed application (by December 8, 2023)
• Evaluation - January 20, 2024

Prekindergarten (PK) is designed for children who are 4 years of age by July 1 of their entry year. PK is the second entry point at AOS with approximately 16-18 qualified applicants admitted. The three classes have approximately 18 students per class, a teacher, and a full-time assistant. 

Admission decisions are based on the child’s development in a variety of areas including social and emotional maturity and overall readiness for our PK program in addition to the WPPSI-IV results, a teacher recommendation, and an on-campus evaluation.

• Completed application (by December 8, 2023)
• Evaluation - January 6, 2024
• WPPSI- IV (Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence). The evaluation will be administered and scheduled by the Collaborative Academic Testing Service (CATS). The WPPSI evaluation fee is $325.00 and paid directly to CATS. All CATS testing is due by December 15, 2023.

Kindergarten at AOS is designed for children who are 5 years of age by July 1 of their entry year. Kindergarten is the third entry point at Annunciation Orthodox School with approximately 12-14 qualified applicants admitted. Each of the three classes has approximately 18-20 students per class, a teacher, and a full-time assistant. 

Admission decisions are based on the child’s development in a variety of areas including social and emotional maturity and overall readiness for our Kindergarten program in addition to the WPPSI-IV results, a teacher recommendation, and an on-campus evaluation.

Required materials for application

• Completed application (by December 8, 2023)
• Evaluation (to be scheduled upon receipt of the application)
• WPPSI- IV (Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence). The evaluation will be administered and scheduled by the Collaborative Academic Testing Service (CATS). The WPPSI evaluation fee is $325.00 and paid directly to CATS. All CATS testing is due by December 15, 2023.

1st through 4th grades at AOS include an average of 60 children in each grade level with approximately 18-20 students per class. Academic support staff assist each classroom teacher(s).

Attrition determines openings in 1st-4th grades. Admission decisions are based on the child’s overall development including social and emotional maturity, character, self-discipline, and preparedness for our lower school program.

1st grade | required materials for application

Applicants for 1st grade must be 6 years of age by September 1 and have successfully completed a full-day academic Kindergarten program.

2nd-4th Grade | required materials for application

• Campus tour (parents only)
• Completed application (by December 8, 2023)
• After an application is submitted, we will assign your visit/interview day.

• WISC (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children). The evaluation will be administered by the Collaborative Academic Testing Service (CATS). The WISC evaluation fee is $325.00 and paid directly to CATS. All CATS testing must be completed by December 15, 2023.

• ISEE (must be completed by January 19, 2024)

• Report cards (final previous year & current mid-year)
• Teacher recommendation
• Application Fee ($100)

5th and 6th grade are the main entry points for middle school with approximately 14 to 16 qualified candidates admitted. Attrition determines the openings in 7th and 8th grade. Class sizes are approximately 16 to 18 students per class.

5th grade is a well-designed transition into the middle school years. Our middle school programs support the development of character and ethics, independent and collaborative learning, as well as navigating the challenges of adolescence. Our students are prepared for high school and beyond.

Admission decisions are based on the candidate’s overall development including social and emotional maturity, character, cognitive ability, self-discipline, and preparedness for our middle school program.
