Kindergarten is a developmentally appropriate academic program designed for children who are five years of age by July 15. Kindergarten is the third entry point at Annunciation Orthodox School with approximately 12 qualified applicants admitted. Each of the three classes has approximately 18-20 students per class, a teacher, and a full-time assistant.
Admissions decisions are based on the child’s development in a variety of areas, social and emotional maturity, and readiness for the AOS Kindergarten program. AOS requires the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) as part of the cognitive assessment. We strongly recommend and prefer that the evaluation is administered by the Collaborative Academic Testing Service (C.A.T.S.) Teacher recommendations are also required at this level.
