Love is in the air! As AOS turned pink and red on Valentine's Day, the Lower School students took part in a wide variety of service projects and demonstrated their love through acts of kindness. From animal adoption bags to letters to active military members, our Lower School students showed just how much heart they truly have.
Jones Center students brought gently used books and stuffed animals from home to give to the children at House of Tiny Treasures. They assembled the books and stuffed animals into gift bags to be given to the children.
Kindergarten students brought gently used books from home and then decorated book bags to put their books in for the students at the Nehemiah Center.
First-grade students and their families made hand-tied and stuffed fleece pillows at home for the children at Casa de Esperanza.
Second-grade students assembled and decorated animal adoption bags along with personal “love letters” to give to the animals at K-9 Angels Rescue.
Third-grade students assembled over 300 snack and survival kits to be distributed to Houston's homeless through SEARCH Homeless Services.
Fourth-grade students wrote thank-you letters to our troops to be distributed through Operation Gratitude.
